WAR CHILD PARTNERS WITH MONTREAL’S OSHEAGA FESTIVAL TO BRING BUSKING FOR CHANGE TO OSHEAGA 2010

War Child is excited to announce that it’s highly successful Busking For CHANGE festival will be making a special stop at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival this summer on July 31st and August 1st, 2010. Celebrated musicians, including Bahamas, Patrick Krief, Still Life Still, Chinatown, Colin Moore, Courtney Wing, Jason Bajada, October Sky, Parlovr, Shane Murphy, The New Cities, Paul Cargnello, Rich Aucoin, Dave Martel and more, will busk for War Child at the festival during peak hours of the day, from 12:00-1:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm. Money collected on site and through online donations, will support War Child, an award-winning charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.

War Child’s second annual Busking For CHANGE festival saw celebrated musicians hit the streets of Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver in 2009 and also make its debut in Montreal in early 2010. Busking For CHANGE has raised over $100,000 for children affected by war and has been supported by over 100 musicians, including Chantal Kreviazuk, Our Lady Peace, Default, Finger Eleven, Amy Millan and Evan Cranley of Stars, illScarlett, Down With Webster, Neverending White Lights, Die Mannequin, Liam O’Neil of The Stills, Arkells, Hollerado, Amanda Mabro, Creature, Little Scream, Ladies of the Canyon, Winter Gloves, Manu Militari, Jeremy Fisher, Liam Titcomb and many more.

War Child will have a booth at Osheaga to highlight the charity’s work, and will also feature various one-of-a- kind raffle and silent auctions items, including guitars autographed by Arcade Fire, The National, Metric and Stars, as well as other exciting items signed by various participating artists.

War Child is also partnering with Osheaga with an exclusive offer for Aeroplan members. Osheaga 2010, one of the most talked about music festivals this summer, will take place Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1 in Montreal’s breath-taking Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène. Featuring a stellar lineup of artists, including Arcade Fire, Pavement, K’Naan, Snoop Dogg, Weezer, Stars, Sonic Youth, Metric, Sarah Harmer, The National, Deadmau5, Devo and many more, this is a festival that you won’t want to miss.
