Art Show of the Week:  Canadian Homage
Preview Days - July 1-4th | Vernissage - July 5th, 2009 | Show runs until August 2nd, 2009

This July, Cube Gallery presents a uniquely Canadian group show, appropriately kicking things off on Canada Day with the first of four preview days.  A vernissage and meet-and-greet with the artists will follow on July 5th, and the exhibit will be on until the beginning of August.

homage, n.  A public show of respect to someone to whom one feels indebted.

“Canadian Homage” features an entire gallery of work honouring Canadian artists.  An "homage"  is done by one artist to acknowledge or consider the contribution of  another. The forty artists in this show have each produced one original piece that pays tribute to a Canadian artist who has influenced them.

To make things more interesting, the name of the artist being honoured is hidden behind a label on each piece, encouraging viewers to guess "who's who?"
